Progress Update 15 Summary

Total devlog updates: 12


New Features Added:

  1. Added new shop areas (Alchemist Store, Hunter Guild Store + Archer Range, Blacksmith Store, Tarven).

  2. Major Upgrade to Environmental System. (Now contain weather/Season transition from clear sky to cloudy to windy, snow, storm and lightning storrm!)

  3. Major Save and load system update. (Now includes Auto-Save functionality and multiple files save and loading screen).

  4. Major Upgrade to NPC behavior system. This is a complete rework so had to redo all existing behaviors.

    (NPC will able to make decisions on different tasks such as whether they want to go eat vs whether to go work)

  5. Added Console Command to allow dev commands such as changing current weather.

  6. At night time, NPC will now carry torch as they move around. (If they have a torch in their inventory).

  7. Added Bird Flocks (Basic roaming behavior for now).

Dev notes:


Finally finished pretty much all the Behavior system conversion. Woot!


Took awfully long enough. It's like I have to rewrite the whole thing. But it should be a much better setup for the future.


With the Conversation behvaior convertion completed. I can now say most of the existing NPC behaviors had converted to the new system.


Expected new exciting features in the coming! Hopefully I have time as this year going to be a bit crazy with my private life related issues.


Moving forward I might not do any Summary update any more since:

  1. Its kind of a big gap of major summary update moving from September to March. Don't want it to looks like the project is abandoned when its not!

  2. Sometime I want to work on different area of the game rather than keep focus on a single area until completion to avoid burnouts.

  3. Don't want to spend extra time capturing gameplay dev footage that was previously captured and showcased (Rather spend the time on the game dev itself).

  4. If I have anything exciting to show, I can show it straight away, rather than wait for other stuffs to complete and forgot about it. And hopefully this means slightly more frequent updates.


Instead I will continue on the incremental update across all social media platforms including indieDB.

Change Log since last incremental update:

  1. Re-config Conversation Behavior (Took a week on this one).

  2. Added 10 new Standing Talk animations pair. (5 Actor vs 5 Conversant).

  3. Update Stores Employee and Customer waypoint and relevant related code changes.

  4. Added New Male Voice set (Will)

  5. Added New Voices for Hunter hand in loot.

  6. Updated Hunter Hand-in loot conversations


  7. Other misc bugfixes
